  • 08.40 Flight back to Zanzibar Airport (09.30 arrival) + transfer back to the hotel

Plenty of time to explore the whole Selous area

Day 1

Early morning, the transfer car will pick you up at your hotel, to bring you to Zanzibar Airport. After check-in at the Domestic departure, and a short flight later, the wildlife in Selous is waiting for you. Our safari vehicle with the driver-guide is ready to go. Your luggage will be brought to Africa Safari Selous, and you can go on a full day game drive, with a bush lunch break in between. Around 5 pm, you will return to Africa Safari Selous, where you can relax, have a drink, dinner and a well deserved good night sleep.

 

Day 2

After a peaceful night sleep, and a nice breakfast, you will leave Africa Safari Selous, you will go again on a full day game drive, to try to reach the Beho Beho hot springs. It will depend on the road condition if your driver-guide will get there, but he will put all he’s got into it. Again you will have a bush lunch with a view, before you start the last few hours of animal spotting in the biggest Game Reserve of Africa, before you head back to Africa Safari Selous, for another marvellous dinner, and some storytelling at the campfire.

Day 3

Today it’s all about exploring the neighbourhood of Africa Safari Selous. You will go on a Bushwalk, where the bushman will explain to you all about fauna and flora, A village tour, to check how our neighbours live and a boat safari on the majestic Rufiji River.

Day 4

After a peaceful night sleep, and a nice breakfast, you will leave Africa Safari Selous, you will go again on a full day game drive, to try to reach the Beho Beho hot springs. It will depend on the road condition if your driver-guide will get there, but he will put all he’s got into it. Again you will have a bush lunch with a view, before you start the last few hours of animal spotting in the biggest Game Reserve of Africa, before you head back to Africa Safari Selous, for another marvellous dinner, and some storytelling at the campfire.

Day 5

After an early breakfast, your driver will bring you to Mtemere airstrip, where the plane is waiting for you, to bring you back to Zanzibar. At Zanzibar airport, our car will bring you back to the hotel, where you can relax and cherish your memories.

Selous GR (Nyerere National Park)

Off the beaten track

Selous GR (Nyerere National Park) is a little more of a hidden wonder in Tanzania, giving it even greater appeal. It’s one of the largest remaining wilderness areas in Africa, relatively undisturbed by human impact with only a small 8% of the northern region of the park dedicated to photographic tourism.

The reserve is crossed by the second biggest river in Tanzania, the Rufiji river, creating a very dynamic ecosystem. Selous is home to more than 2000 species of plants and over 350 species of birds and reptiles, boasting a wide range of wildlife from the African bush elephants, hippopotamus and lions to Cape buffaloes, Maasai giraffe, & zebra.

The vehicle is a low emission, open four-wheel drive safari jeep, perfectly suited for getting up close and personal with nature and taking unobstructed pictures.
